Quality Assurance Job Description

The Software Tester is responsible to perform the various testing of the application, reporting of Defect, creation/updating/deletion of the test cases, verify cases reported by customers and report bugs, and perform testing on patches provided to fix certain bugs/issues.

Experience : 2-4 years

Skill Set

Must have experience of SDLC and STLC.
Must be well versed with Agile Methodology.
Must have an expertise of testing artifacts like Test Plan, Test Case, Test Scenarios and Test Script.
Must have experience in creating and executing comprehensive Test Plans with minimal direction.
Must have experience of writing the Test Scenarios and Test Case from scratch and execute it for the same.
Must have expertise in the Defect Life Cycle.
Must have experience of some defects management tools like Bugzilla, QC, JIRA, TFS.
Must have experience of creating defect reports manually or using any defect tracking tool.
Should have experience of manual testing for web/mobile/standalone applications.
Should have experience of the SQL tools like SQL Server, Oracle and, My SQL.
Should have good knowledge of OOPs concept and Core Java.
Should have experience in Hybrid Automation tool and frameworks such as Selenium and TestNG.
Should have experience of writing Test Script adhere from Test Plan.
Should have experience of automation tools like Selenium, Appium, and Protractor.
Good to have knowledge of API testing manually and through automation tools like Postman, SoupUI, RestAssured.
Good to have knowledge of the performance testing tool like Apache JMeter.

Key Responsibilities

Design and create the manual test cases from scratch with minimal direction.
Test execution and bug hunting during functional/Adhoc/regression testing.
Track bug status and work closely with the development team to communicate test results to them.
Write SQL queries like (select and modify) to very data flow.
Write test automation scripts from the written test cases.
Execution of API testing manually as well as using any automation tools.
Performance testing on applications.
Self-directed and self-motivated individual who takes complete ownership of the product and its outcome.
Ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks within the same assignment and prioritize effectively
Self-motivated, work well in a team structure or independently & a good team player.
Mentor, develop, coach, and / or supervise less experienced quality engineers.
Should be able to handle client communication independently.
