Intern Software Testing Engineer or Jr. QA Engineer

If you have a software testing background and get joy from delivering defect free software, enjoy building and executing a testing suite that catches every defect that creeps in, we’d like to meet you. As a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer you will develop and execute a test suite of exploratory, manual and automated tests to ensure product quality. 

You will play an important role in managing and aligning product development to quality-oriented release plans.

While you will join as an intern but this will have a path to a full time role after internship.

Candidate should have:

• Saas Software Testing Background

• Experience in writing Happy path Test Cases and also beyond boundary and Edge cases

• Intuitive and logical ability to foresee points of software failure

• Deep empathy of for Customer Business cases

• Ability to understand business requirements

• Understanding of Customer Experience and test cases should not be limited to meeting technically requirements

• Configure Setup Test environment

• Ability to create real life equivalent test database

• Testing for Functionality, Performance, Scale and Security

• Closely work with the development team to get all issues fixed

• Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes

• A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success

• Basic knowledge of SQL, preferably MySQL

• Hands-on experience on any automated testing technology is appreciated

You will use, learn and gain experience on 

• Automated Unit testing languages such as for PhpUnit / PhpSpec Testing / Codeception

• Functional Automation Laravel Dusk Framework / Selenium / Sahipro

• DB testing on AWS / Azure hosted Databases using Mysql 

• Automated API testing using  Postman, Jmeter will be preferred

• Software Development and Testing Life Cycle in Jira (SDLC and STLC)

• Use JIRA and Github as defect reporting and tracking tools

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Bootstrapping the STLC for the product

• Aligning STLC to SDLC for a smoother and quality-oriented delivery

• Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

• Estimating, prioritising, planning and coordinating quality testing activities

• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools

• Handle testing of web applications

• Work on functional, GUI, responsive, regression, smoke, and sanity

• Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test case reviews, test data collection, test execution and defect reporting

• Work on bug life cycle management, STLC, SDLC, and Agile testing Methodologies

• Work on requirement gathering, understanding, analyzing and reporting issues
