Solar Sales Telecaller
Job Summary: The Solar Sales Telecaller is responsible for generating sales leads and setting appointment for the company's residential and commercial solar installation services. Through outbound calling efforts, the position involves contacting potential customers, educating them on the benefits of solar power, and qualifying their interest to schedule an in-home or on-site consultation with a solar sales representative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make outbound calls to prospective residential and commercial solar customers using provided calling lists and databases
- Follow guided call scripts to introduce the company's solar products/services and promotional offers
- Qualify prospects by gathering information on location, utility costs, interest level in solar, etc.
- Describe the value and cost-savings of converting to solar power tailored to the customer's situation
- Address common objections and concerns regarding solar technology and financing options
- Schedule confirmed appointments for solar consultations and site evaluations for qualified leads
- Accurately log all call details, notes and next steps in the customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Meet and exceed individual calling quotas and appointment setting targets
- Stay current on solar product knowledge, incentives, policies and company messaging
- May involve calling existing customers for referrals, feedback surveys, or service purposes
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; training/courses in sales and marketing a plus
- 1+ years of experience in an outbound telemarketing or call center environment
- Strong phone skills with ability to convey confidence, excitement and credibility
- Basic knowledge of solar energy technology/installation process
- Comfortable making numerous outbound calls per day and working under productivity goals
- Excellent listening skills to understand customer needs and handle objections
- Ability to multi-task with multiple calling lists and computer systems
- Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office suite
- Self-motivated with a drive to achieve monthly sales quotas and goals
- A positive, resilient attitude with ability to handle rejection
