Special Rapporteur/1
Eligibility Criteria: Retired Central/State Government officers of the level not below Director in Government of India or is an academician of repute or an eminent person who has knowledge of, or practical experience in, matters relating to gender and human rights or a domain expert, shall be eligible for appointment as Special Rapporteur.
Tenure & Remuneration: Initially for a period of one year or upto the age of 70 years whichever is earlier on consolidated monthly honorarium @ Last Basic Pay drawn minus basic pension + DA at prevailing rates. Upto a maximum of Rs.70,000/- (Rupees Seventy Thousand only) including reimbursement for secretarial or other expenses for facilitation of work. The Commission will have discretionary power to decide variation.
Terms of Reference: To examine, monitor, evaluate, advise and report on status and condition of women for ameliorating their condition in selected psychiatric institution identified by the Commission and report their progress through activities undertaken by special procedures, conducting visit and providing advice on emerging issues from gender perspective in collaboration with identified institutions. To work on functioning of Swadhar Greh, prisons, widow homes and Psychiatric Hospitals/Homes. To work on policies, compile reports and take up issues related to the concerned Institutions/Authorities. Review the rehabilitation and discharge plan for long-stay women inmates.
Age Limit: Up to 70 Years
