No. A1-28/2019/CSO

Recruitment of Sports Personnel to Kerala Police Football Team (men) to the following streams

Event/ Stream Number of Vacancy : 

1 Goal Keeper /01 post
2 Defenders /02 posts
3 Midfielders /02 posts
4 Strikers /02 posts

Qualification : A) Sports achievement. 1) First or second place in individual events in recognized State Meets and who have been selected to represent the State.

2) First place in team events recognized State Meets and who have been selected to represent the State.

3) Represented the States in the Team events and secured selection to represent in interstate, National Championships (UNIVERSITY / JUNIOR / SENIOR / YOUTH / SCHOOL LEVEL) / NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS) (All the Sports achievements should be made on or after 01.01.2016) B)Educational Qualification (Men): A Pass in the HSE or equivalent Examination.

Age: Must have completed 18 years and must be below 26 years of age as on 01 January-2019

Physical Qualification: Men : (i) Height : A minimum of 168cm. (ii) Chest : A minimum of 81 cm and with a minimum expansion of 5 cm

Note: Minimum Height and chest measurement shall be 160 cm and 76 cm respectively for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. The minimum chest expansion of 5 cm shall, however be applicable for them also.

There is no authoritative record on the history of Police in ancient Kerala. To a great extent one has to rely upon the earliest literary documents starting from the Sanghom period (200 AD). The literary works of the Sanghom period, namely Akamkrithikal, Pathittipattu and Chilppathikaram, depict the ancient policing system. These works refer to the appointment of Sentries and watchmen who were posted on the highways to protect the travellers and caravans of merchants, etc. Chilappathikaram gives a detailed account of investigation of cases by a special group of people.
