Qualification : The minimum education qualification is 12th (10+2) Passed or its equivalent examination. The candidates should possess the further requisite academic qualification, in terms of Higher level, for which they are applying on the date of submission of application as given below. Those who are appearing and/or awaiting results of final examination are not eligible:

Level-5( 2,800/-) : - A university degree or its equivalent examination. (in case of selection to Clerical category candidate should possess typing skill with 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi).

Level-4 (2,400/-) : - 12th (10+2) Passed with Physics and Math in higher secondary examination or 10th Passed + ITI or its equivalent (NAC from NCVT) examination for technical category.

Level 2 (1,900) & Level-3 (2,000/-) : - 12th (10+2) its equivalent examination for NTPC & 10th Pass + ITI for technical category or equivalent (NAC from NCVT) or 12th (10+2) Passed with Physics and math in higher secondary examination. (in case of selection to Clerical category candidate should possess typing skill with 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi).

Pay :

Level 5/ Level 4 (PB-1) : Grade Pay (VI CPC) - Rs.2800/ 2400/- (VIth CPC)/ Pay Band : Rs.29200- 92300/ 25500- 81100

Level-3/ Level-2 (PB-1) : Grade Pay (VI CPC) - Rs.2000/ 1900/- (VIth CPC)/ Pay Band : Rs.21700- 69100/ 19900- 63200

Age Limits : The candidates should have- Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years of age as on 01.01.2019. (Note: matriculation or its equivalent certificate from recognized board should be submitted for date of birth proof). No age relaxation is allowed even for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Application Fee : The UR and OBC candidates should submit with the application in Indian Postal Order/Bank Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- (issued after the date of this notification) drawn in favour of PFA, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Payable at Chittaranjan as detailed below: The SC/ST, women, minority candidates (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists & Zoroastrian’s [Parsis]) and candidates belonging to economically backward classes (whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/- per annum) have to pay Indian Postal Order/Bank Demand Draft of Rs. 250/-.

Selection Procedure : Selection will be based upon performance in sports Trial and Interview & Certificate produced in support of Educational qualification and sports achievements and finalized by a nominated selection committee. The venue & date for Trials and Interview/Certificate Verification will be intimated to the eligible candidates.

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) is a dream of the nation?s visionaries, coming true. The planners of the Nation with their deep insight and foresight set out to build a Loco building Factory in West Bengal and CLW is the culmination of that vision. In the late thirties, a committee consisting of M/s. Humphries and Shrinivasan was appointed to investigate the possibility of establishing a locomotive manufacturing unit and to consider its economic viability. The initial project, at Chandmari, a place near Kanchrapara, in the state of West Bengal, could not mature due to partition, which inevitably necessitated a change of site.
