PURPOSE OF ROLE
As a key member of the Managed Services and Operations team, you will be driving the standards, configurations, automation of provisioning, remediation, updates and roadmaps for Brennan enterprise clients. While focused on Brennan IT's enterprise clients, your shared knowledge and standards will also support improvements across the entire SQL estate for all of Brennan IT's Managed Services customers.

This role requires someone that has the ability to solve the most complex, high-impact challenges faced by our customers in a timely and efficient manner; who is comfortable to establish the standards and best practice to ensure a reliable and consistent SQL experience for all of customers.

As part of the role you will not only design and audit the best practice for all Microsoft SQL use cases, but also help to form, train and handle escalations from the Managed Services and Operations Group(s) as a specialist escalation resource. The Managed Services enterprise team will handle all BAU incidents and requests across the entire enterprise client fleet. The role will also make you responsible for the stability, efficiency, confidentiality and compliance across enterprise client database servers.

You will be required to work with Managed Services, Operations, Network, Product Engineering and Product Automation teams to define the best practice standards, tools to audit against those standards and then the Service Catalogue and Automation of common SQL remediations.

The role requires a very advanced degree of technical skill across a broad range of areas in IT infrastructure and a good understanding of ITIL processes. A sound understanding of the Windows Server operating system, virtualization and storage is also crucial for this role.

This is a pivotal role in helping us or the client with their current challenges, as well as an opportunity to embark rapidly on a journey to define the best and most efficient operating environment for our clients and their SQL environments.

This role requires the follow Competencies and Experience;

Minimum of 5 years IT experience
Advanced skills in Wintel environments and broad range of technologies
Advanced skills in Microsoft SQL, SQL language and database administration
Desired skills in PostgreSQL, DB2 and Oracle database technologies
Knowledge of automation capabilities of SQL queries, reports and management plan s
Experience is acting as final escalation point for complex/high impact issues
Root cause and problem analysis
Conduct technical workshops with clients as well as internal stakeholders
Ability to travel to client site for onsite support

Industry based certifications
Coaching and Mentoring Junior Staff

Specialized Technical Skillset (SME) in Microsoft SQL primarily
Prior experience within an outsourced service delivery environment or MSP
Working knowledge of ITIL concepts and methodologies
Reasonable experience working with Cloud environments such as Azure/AWS
Reasonable knowledge of networking concepts including Azure SQLaaS, Azure and Networking
MCSA Certification
