Job Summary

Being responsible for the procurement for the West facilities in India, including supplier selection, ordering, follow-up and process control, while ensuring that internal customer requirements for materials/goods and services are achieved in a timely manner at the lowest total cost and in direct conformance with the policies and procedures of West.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

Accountability for seamless, smooth provision of the goods and services supply of the West facilities in India.
Issue purchase orders and ensure that quality products and services are purchased in accordance to established procedures.
Have a basic knowledge of the regional landscape of the supply market for goods and services in terms of supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends and cost drivers.
Support Specialist, procurement and Global Category Management with preliminary discussion and consolidation of documents to negotiate contracts with suppliers.
Understand and negotiate the structure and terms of common contracts and business models in India.
Maintain required records relating to external expenditure particularly those relating to price/cost and lists of approved suppliers.
Act as first contact point if problems with suppliers arise. Coordinate resolution of supplier performance issues with limited support by the Specialist, Plant Procurement India or Global Category Management.
Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Ensure adequate protection of confidential information and documentation. Restrict access to confidential information. Ensure that key operational and essential documentation files are properly stored.
Quality: The job holder is aware of his/her special responsibility for quality and conducts his/her activities in accordance with the Company’s quality policy at all times.
- Ensure that all operations in your area of responsibilities are comply with GMP ISO 9001: 2015 & ISO 15378:2017.
SOI: The job holder is aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
Safety: The job holder is aware of all his/her special responsibility towards health and safety in accordance with the company’s safety policy at all times;
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work safely by not causing unsafe conditions or doing unsafe acts.
Lean: Support and contribute actively in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
- List Lean activities that are job related: eg. Switch off the machinery if it is not operating; or Switch off the lights and air conditioning if you are the last person to leave the premise.
- Simplify processes and improvements; reduce printing or photocopying; use recycle papers.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or Business Administration
Minimum 3 years business experience in sourcing/supplier/category management or related functions, preferably with chemical industry or pharmaceutical industry background.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Supply Chain or Procurement Certifications.
Experience in SAP (MM) and MS Office.
Analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and project management skills.
Proficiency in English.

Travel Requirements

Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
