Storage Administrator - Field Support SSR
Field Support SSR for Storage Systems & Storage Administrator.You will be providing field & on-site residence support services for High End Storage Systems, attached Storage, SAN devices for Break-Fix calls

As a Storage Admin, you will be responsible to maintain and manage various storage solutions. Provide L2 & L3 Level technical support, guidance and direction for products supported. Analyse and resolve escalated problems.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• You will provide field and on-site residence support services for High End Storage Systems, attached Storage, SAN devices for Break-Fix calls
• Responsible for new Implementations for MA and Warranty customers including IBM Internal customers in the Region.
• Provide support for Storage Hardware, Copy Services, Replication Technology, DR Drill support and other critical customers
• Work with the SMEs to drive major incidents and work towards RCA
• Ensure integrity of supported environment.
• Actively and pre-emptively determine possible faults and causes by the execution of pre-determined health and operational checks.
• Hardware /software fault detection and vendor liaison. Liaise with customer accounts as required, Analyse and resolve escalated problems within target.
• Investigate, identify and document proposals that will improve application recoverability.
• Document and implement changes to technical standards as required.
• Change and problem management targets are exceeded. Ensure that customer satisfactory levels are exceeded

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in IBM Enterprise Storage and Mid End Storage and Tape drives Hardware and Administration
• Proficient in HP, Brocade and Cisco SAN switches Hardware and Administration
• Experience on Service Console and HMC operation.
• Expertise in Storage /SAN Switch Code installation/Upgradation/Patch Management
• Solid Understanding of Hardware Platform for Installation, Repair and Maintenance of above equipment
• Ability to perform break-fix calls / repair actions as directed by Product engineering team

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Certifications: relevant storage certification.
• Ability to ensure that all the data pertaining to the company and its clients is safeguarded against unauthorized or illegal use by implementing various methodologies against those who violate the security rules and regulations
• Proficient to maintain the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the information and to maintain its authenticity, control and utility of the relevant data
• Experience in supporting all the necessary procedures related to security approval, accreditation, certification, etc.
• In-depth knowledge to implement a realistic approach during the certification schedule and process
• Hands-on experience to ensure compliance with vulnerability and mitigation procedures and to establish and install security fixes at regular intervals
