Job Description
Act as a Senior Storage Administrator for the Global Storage Team. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: General storage administration Performance management Storage platformsadministration, monitoring, upgrading, installation and setup, configuration, testing, and deployments within a software development environment Working with vendors for support issues Performance tuning in a large environment Process automation and improvement Work closely with architecture and service delivery teams on existing and new initiatives Help Desk tickets for customer issues Supporting other IT staff as needed The Senior Storage Administrator will also be responsible for critical storage operations support in a primarily NAS environment and will participate in a global on-call rotation. Must be able to perform problem resolution in an effective and timely manner in accordance with SLA's and customer expectations. Time management and prioritization skills will be required to accommodate business requirements and manage scheduledactivities. Must work well in a team environment and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. he successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: BS degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. MS degree is preferred. 5+ years working with Network Appliance NAS technologies including in depth experience with NetApp Cluster Mode (cDot) and management tools such as On Command Unified Manager Ability to perform system administration for Linux, Windows, and virtual environments with a combined experience of at least 5 years of directly applicable work Familiar with High Performance Compute (HPC) environments and the demands required for storage throughput and IOPs Data Protection technologies including Snapmirror / Snapvault replications In depth experience with performance monitoring and data analytic tools (On Command Unified Manager, Splunk, Grafana, etc.) Must understand networking protocols and be able to diagnose perceived storage performance problems at the client level (Linux and Windows) Experience supporting software development engineers Strong scripting abilities - PowerShell, Ansible, REST APIs, etc. for process automation Must have a solid understanding of problem management, incident management, and change control processes Preferred Knowledge / Skills, Education, and Experience EDA and PLM Industry knowledge NetApp Certifications highly desired Flash and Scale out storage platforms management and troubleshooting Software development,coding, and programming background Virtualization experience with VMware products Exposure to modern open-source tools from a system support point of view (GIT, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, and other tools used in modern development pipelines) Active Directory and Windows Permissions Familiarity with data security and Anti-Virus software Experience working in a large scale software engineering / IT environments with multiple teams across the globe Organization: Digital Industries Company: Siemens Industry Software (India) Private Limited Experience Level: Experienced Professional Job Type: Full-time
