Job Description

Applications are invited for filling up of one post Of System Analyst, Group Gazetted, CGWB in Level-IO (Rs.56, 100-177500/-) of pay Matrix (pre-revised PB-3 (Rs. 15,600 - 39,100/-) with GP Rs.5400/- by deputation (including short-term contract) basis Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union Territory Administration or Autonomous or Statutory Organisation or Public Sector Undertaking or Recognised University or Institute or Research Institution.

holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; (ii) with two years service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in level-8 in the pay matrix in the parent cadre or department; and 2. Possessing the following educational qualifications : (i) Master's degree in Computer Applications or M. sc. (Computer Science or Information Technology) from a recognized University or Institute; or (ii) B.E. or B. Tech in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Technology or Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology• from a recognized University or Institute;
(iii) Three years of post-qualification experience in Programming or Information Technology in a Government Office or Autonomous Body or Statutory Organisation or Public Sector Undertaking or in any recognized institution.

Note 1 : Qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case Of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 2: Period of deputation (including short-term contract) including the period Of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years. 

The pay of the officer selected for the above post shall be regulated in terms of the provisions contained in the GOI, DOPT O.M. No. 2/29/91-Estt. (Pay.11) dated 05.01.1994, as amended from time to time.
6. Duties and Responsibilities for the post as follows: Maintenance Of the software and hardware Of the CHQ. Development of various Information Systems for the Board.

Taking regular Data Backup and storage of data. Safe custody of Software procured. Implementation Of the IT plan of CGWB, Ministry of Jal Shakti, DOWR, RD & GR in Board. Collection of relevant literature and software details of groundwater-related work. Make suitable formats for collection Of required data on a uniform basis from Regional offices and enabling data flow from Regional Omces to Head Quarter and vice versa. Development of software for cataloging various activities Of CGWB.

Age Limit:The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract) shall not be exceeding fifty six years as on the closing date Of receipt of applications.

The history of the subject ‘Irrigation & Power’ dates back to 1855 when it was made the responsibility of the then newly created Department of the Public Works but not much impetus was given to irrigation work till the famine of 1858, when it was decided to take up canal construction work on an extensive scale and accordingly, an Inspector General of Canals was appointed. In 1863, taking into consideration the importance attached to development of irrigation facilities in the country, it was decided to place this subject under the charge of an irrigation expert, with the designation of Inspector General of Irrigation.  He functioned under the administrative control of Secretary, Public Works Department.
