Position Summary
RIBBON Service Delivery department covers network design, routing & translations databases design, consultation, installation, commissioning, configuration, integration, acceptance testing & migration activities. Network Design engineers work remotely or in a customer facing environment at various customer locations throughout APAC or international assignment. This position involves working across the portfolio of RIBBON products to support customer required solutions with a focus on network design & consultation of RIBBON Customer solutions. Aspects of the role requires strong investigation and proactive problem-solving skills to drive solutions through to validation and customer acceptance.
Experience And Skills
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Convert customer requirements into robust, flexible, and scalable network design for telecom service providers or enterprises across the globe
- Capability to work in customer facing role for design (IP Plan, call flows, design docs, & config) and troubleshoot real-time communication networks to drive Customer Acceptance of deployed hardware & functionalities
- Remove obstacles and accelerate time to in-service and revenue generation
- Author Architecture, high level design, low level design and feature application notes following Ribbon process
- Develop deep understanding of Ribbon products and its capabilities (what it can and cannot do)
- Provide expertise during proposal preparation and technical workshops and integrate Ribbon solutions into customerâs existing network infrastructure
- Delivery of quality services to meet customer requirements
- Creation and execution of action plans, workarounds & MOPs in customer networks for custom activities
- Support various Ribbon groups with respect to Network Design including Account team, Engineering (developers and testers),Customer support and Sales and marketing
- Build strong and long-lasting relationships with internal & external customers
- Effective and concise Technical Report writing for both internal and external organisations
Education And Experience
- Bachelorâs degree in Technical discipline
- 7+ years of work experience in Technical roles in Telecom industry
- Expert in LAN/WAN Networking, VoIP, IP, SIP, ENUM, 3GPP, SBC, audio/video CODECS, Wireshark and tcpdump
- Strong knowledge of IPSec, VPNs, NAT/Firewalls, Ethernet, TCP/IP, QoS, H.248, H.323 and ISUP
- Exposure to IMS, RCS, STIR/SHAKEN, SS7/SIGTRAN, Microsoft Teams, is a plus
- Experience and broad understanding of Linux, Unix, Solaris, VMWare, Virtualization, Cloud, and/or AWS Platforms,
- Exposure to Openstack HEAT Template, Neutron, Cloud Management areas
- Prior experience as Network Design on switching or computer telephony applications is highly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across groups in multiple geographic locations
- Ability to work in a time-critical environment is required and comfortable working independently
- Ability to take a project or task from inception to completion understanding when to escalate and strong problem analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced dynamic environment
