Responsibilities:
Preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses by researching tax laws and regulations, preparing calculations based on the client’s financial information, and submitting returns to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for review
Calculating taxes by reviewing clients’ tax histories, income statements, and other documents, and using this information to prepare tax returns
Preparing tax withholding forms such as Form W-4 for employees or Form 1099 for independent contractors
Reviewing clients’ financial records for evidence of business income or personal expenses that may not have been reported on tax returns
Helping clients file their tax returns by assisting them with forms, calculating taxes owed or refund amounts due, and submitting the forms electronically or by mail to the IRS
Providing tax planning advice to clients based on their current situation and future goals
Researching tax laws and updating knowledge of changes in tax policy to ensure compliance with IRS regulations
Preparing tax returns for individuals, including single or joint filers, heads of household, estates, trusts, and corporations
Preparing tax returns for businesses by handling bookkeeping duties such as tracking sales, recording purchases and payments, and keeping financial records
