Job Description

Technical expert – Universal Design and Inclusive Development

Project Name: Building Accessible, Safe & inclusive Indian Cities (BASllC)

Required Skills and Experience    

Academic Qualification : 1. Minimum Master’s Degree or equivalent in urban planning and design, architecture, public policy, law, economics, or a related field is required;
a.  Advanced qualifications in human rights law or disability law/policy will be highly regarded.

Required Experience : 1.    Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of urban planning and architecture, and 5 years’ experience practicing inclusive design principles; Or 2.    Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of disability law and or disability policy at national or international level;3.    Demonstrated knowledge in CRPD, RPWD, policy research on disabilities, universal design principles;4.    Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing urban strategies, structures, systems and procedures for programs in disability and inclusion field;5.    Demonstrated experience in designing consultation processes on disability or related issues;6.    Demonstrated experience in writing strategic documents or guidance materials (e.g., policy briefs, strategies, manuals, standard operating procedures, guidelines) in plain English.7.    Experience working in India or South Asia will be preferred.

Language: Fluency in written and spoken English, Fluency in written and spoken Hindi
