Advertisement for Position of Technician (CD40 project)

Applications are invited for the post of one Technician contractual position for a “Neuro protective function in CD40 Mouse Hepatitis Virus induced Central Nervous System Infection” research project in the multidisciplinary translational research field undertaken in the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Kolkata.

Project Name: Neuro protective function in CD40 Mouse Hepatitis Virus induced Central Nervous System Infection

Position: Technician/ No. of Vacancy: 1

Minimum Eligibility: M.Sc in any branch of Biological Sciences from a recognized University/Institute.

Desirable Qualifications:1-2 years of prior research experience of working in a cell and molecular biology lab with training to work in animal cell culture and basic cell biology techniques such as protein/RNA extraction, western blotting, immunostaining and microscopy is required. Prior experience in small animal handling is desirable. People with experiences in the field of virology/ neuro virology/ neuro immunology or combination of all the three will be given preference. Basic knowledge of using computers for record keeping and data analysis is required.

Salary: 20,000/- per month (consolidated)

Project start date: Will be notified via email to the selected candidates.

Tenure of the post will initially be for one year but likely to be extendable for two more years subject to performance of the candidate and availability of funds.
