Key Role and Responsibility

Creation of automated tests, including functional, integration, user interface and load for software projects.

• Creation of manual test scripts and test cases for scenarios which

cannot be automated.

• Write test conditions that cover the requirements documented in thespecification or product backlogs

• Execute test scripts and track defects for system testing, regression testing, integration testing, database testing, performance testing, load testing, installation testing.

• Effective communication of defect/test status with project team.

• Work well with other team members.

• Gain a good understanding of the business requirements on a projectin order to be able to test the system which meets those requirements.
• Updating of Backlog Items and in order to record progress and self-manage.
• Project office activities including time sheet logging.

• Write documentation as required.

• Comply with corporate test processes and ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

• Ensure all personally produced test deliverables meet with the CIVICA Test Policy and CIVICA Test Framework

• Validation and verification of test inputs, functional specifications,requirements etc. for testability, ambiguity and completeness

• Produce test artefacts, Test Cases, Expected Results, Actual Results,Defects, Data, Defect Re-tests and Test Outcome Reports

• Manage the quality aspects of testing work and provide peer review of the testing artefacts produced by others in the testing team

• Provide accurate and concise process updates Senior Tester / Product Owner / Project Manager

• Assess and document any risks or issues that threaten the achievement of the testing deliverables

• Able to execute manual tests and automated tests within the automation frameworks• Actively seek process improvements and efficiencies

• Act as a role model, mentor and coach to Junior Testers

• Provide input to the Test Planning and Estimating test phases
