Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Test Specialist you will be expected to Execute test cases/scripts/scenarios on schedule (Functional, Systems Integration, and Regression Testing),and open defects as needed. Also in addition As an Automation Test Engineer you will be creating test plans, test cases and test data to support development projects and project requirements and design documents and will be expected to Build the Test Automation suite using industry standard Automation tools/technologies. This role may take care of Acceptance Testing & Integration testing which may include function/component, system, performance, regression and service. The development team will both do new development activities but also support production break/fix as well as dev/ops activities.

Responsibilities:

As part of a Agile Squad, the Test Specialist will be responsible for:

Perform Automation and Manual testing and based on Agile methodologies
Participate in requirements / user story analysis and design Complete activities related to the assigned user stories based on priority
Conduct appropriate unit and module testing Detect, report, investigate and if required fix defects in the application (production support).
Have a proactive attitude for problem solving, creating solutions thinking out of the box
Work effectively in collaboration with other team members â as well as stakeholders and other support functions when required
Continued focus on improving the applications.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Test automation tool primarily using Java with Selenium.
Deep understanding in developing test scripts using tools like Selenium with Gherkins/Cucumber frameworks
Proficient in database fundamentals and exposure to complex SQLs. (DB2/Oracle/MySQL)
Experience as Test Automation Specialist and act as Data Steward while being able to prepare test data with necessary support from BA/PO
Experience with source control management tools (GitHub, Jenkins)
In-depth experience with using Agile lifecycle management tools like Jira
Proven ability in building test strategy and test plans for data centric application development projects
Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Good to have expertise in programming languages like Java or Scala
Familiarity with Agile development along with experience in Cloud infrastructure like IBM cloud
Hands on experience with Data Analysis; Querying using SQLs and considerable exposure to ETL processes.
Expertise in testing Cloud native applications with High Volume Data processing.
Familiarity with load testing for multiple microservice components
