Job Title : Associate Engineer – Verification and Validation
Perform MeterLink Test activities like Test Setup, Test Development, Execution & Test artefacts generation and contribute to smooth execution of all test projects for MeterLink (Automation and Manual). Participate in Peer Reviews and support product development and organization initiatives. Organize and execute test activities by using formal test methodology and effective Test Automation, in addition to reviewing the activities of other test team members to test Ultrasonic Flow Meter products (includes Mark XX, Mark III and HART DDs).
Responsible for test activities for MeterLink Test Automation project and MeterLink Manual Testing. Provide technical support on products/technology
Develop test objectives, test cases, test inputs, test scripts and test procedures for software testing from software requirements. Ensure optimum test coverage for the test to pass and fail
Understand requirements (Mark III, Mark XX and MeterLink) to ensure they are complete and testable
Work closely with the Team Lead to efficiently resolve technical issues and keep the project on track
Track and capture metrics for test schedule and test quality. Maintain a high degree of source control; manage bug tracking, change requests and improvement logs
Ensure the right tools, technologies and platforms are chosen for the testing. Improve test execution by using the right tools and technologies
Responsible for test setup management and implement methods for repeatability with minimum maintenance
Utilize testing best practices to create appropriate test objectives and test cases and conduct peer reviews to meet quality goals objective for all the artefacts and deliverables.
Communicate status of tasks clearly to the Team Lead
Reporting Relationships: Directly to Team Lead
Experience and Education:
Bachelors or Masters in Electronics or Electronics & Instrumentation or Computer Engineering (similar or higher)
2+ years in software engineering focused on Automated testing and validation of Windows Desktop applications
ISTQB Foundation level (or equivalent) certification is required
Experience with Windows GUI testing, and GUI test automation tools, preferable is TestComplete is required
Good knowledge of scripting language, preferably JScript, VB script . Good understanding of Coding Best Practices, Object Handling and Error Handling. Hands-on experience in automated test case design, pseudo-code development, scripting and various functional and non-functional testing types
Well versed with test configuration management, test artefact version control processes and testing tools. Knowledge of Subversion is desired
Knowledge of industrial protocols is preferred like HART, Modbus serial, Modbus TCP/IP
Thorough understanding of software test development life cycle
Other required skills:
Proficient with MS Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in working with internal and external partners
Foster and maintain positive relationships with local and global test team members.
