Job Description
Role : User Engagement Designer at IllumineDesigning next-generation augmentation platforms and services :a) Purpose of DesignAs a user engagement designer at Illumine, you will be designing digital platforms/ services to augment and strengthen human capability and help people unleash their potential. b) Context of Work These digital platforms/services will be a part of large-scale transformative interventions delivered by Illumine for educational institutes, large corporates, government or community agencies. c) Diverse User Groups These interventions involve designing for diverse user groups - school students, college faculty, career-seekers, parents, corporate leaders, community or field workers, etc. d) Reach and Impact Through your work you will deeply impact the lives of thousands/lakhs of people in each intervention.
Examples of the kind of products you will be building :-
Product visions in the form of concept notes or demo prototypes using tools like Adobe XD or Marvel. Specifications for tech builds-
Design testing models/frameworks for the product-
Documenting the design cycles & journey of evolution for each platform/ service, etc.What you should know about the role/ nature of work :-
Our products fundamentally involve designing the user's engagement with knowledge. This demands you as a designer to engage deeply with new ideas and subject matter.-
We work on building end to end whole products and evolving them in fast cycles (few days to a week) to realize the user outcome. We always prioritize creating customer/user value and don't let business goals distract our user focus. In the pursuit of user outcomes, we are not wedded to a fixed set of processes, principles or schools of design. We try to synthesize multiple approaches and points of view to design new hows (methodologies) that will make the design better. You are likely to enjoy this role and be a good fit, if :-
You have some background (educational/experience) in design (product design, interaction design, graphic design, human-centered design, industrial design, etc.) You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in working on the design of digital tools, applications or platforms.-
You get a kick out of designing something that augments human capacity in unleashing potential. You like working with knowledge and complex ideas and challenging yourself/your thinking on diverse subjects. You like working in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment,-
You want to be challenged to grow as a practitioner of user engagement design by developing diverse competencies. e.g. communication, visual design, prototyping, etc. If you like working across different mediums At Illumine, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to other teams by taking your ability to design user engagements to building physical toolkits and rich-media products in addition to technology products.
