Developing website design strategy for new website builds with a focus on user experience
Designing and develop new interfaces
Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps to communicate interaction and design ideas
Design page layouts, templates, engaging and responsive landing pages
Preparing design plans and presenting the website structure
Employing industry and design best practice through website and app build process
Developing and maintaining consistent branding
Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices and standards
Working with different content management systems
Producing and maintaining design systems
Utilizing data and analytics in making design decisions
Producing design assets for use in social media and marketing channels
Optimising sites for maximum speed and scalability
Ensuring websites function and stability across devices i.e. desktop, mobile, tablet
Working with SEO specialist on optimizing site content
Collaborating with UX, marketing, engineering, and other teams

Requirements

One to two years of professional Web Design experience
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Digital Media or related field
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
Be comfortable doing web design while using HTML and CSS
Have working knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
A strong appreciation for user-centered design
Awareness of UI/UX principles
Proven understanding of graphic design fundamentals
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
Familiarity with digital photo editing
Ability to deliver production-ready digital assets in a wide variety of formats
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good understanding of content management systems
Good understanding of search engine optimization principles
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
Knowledge of WordPress standards and functionality
Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques
Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies
Excellent communication skills - you have a way with words & can connect easily with others
Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Comfort working in a deadline-driven environment
