Who we are

We are building Plaksha, a technology university for the future, with an aim to help solve some of the toughest challenges of the world through transformational education. Our graduates will not just be engineers by degree but true innovators, inventors, and problem solvers.

The founding team of Reimagining Higher Education Foundation (RHEF),the sponsoring body of Plaksha is made up of more than 80 CEOs, entrepreneurs, and technology companies. Some of the Founders involved played a significant role in setting up Ashoka University. This initiative is modeled on a collective philanthropy and is driven by a full-time project team fueled by the passion of the founders to bring the finest technology education to India.

The University is slated to launch in 2021 and the project is at an exciting start-up stage where we are designing a cutting-edge curriculum, developing a research strategy, building global collaborations, designing the campus, and preparing for launch.

We already have a summer program called Young Technology Scholars for grades 9-11 and a postgraduate program called Tech Leaders Fellowship.

Need

We are looking out for people to join us on this exciting journey and translate the ambitious vision into reality. Our need at this moment is a Website Developer.

As Web Developer,

You will be required to manage the Plaksha University website and updates to it. It entails planning, implementing, managing and monitoring the website.
You will also be required to develop new features and integrations for the website.
You will work with all areas of the University to prioritize on a pipeline of projects to ensure Plaksha University website is best in class and up to date.

Responsibilities

Develop external facing and internal-facing web pages.
Ongoing maintenance of the University website, including the content management system.
Build integrations with third-party apps to send and receive data.
Develop high-quality landing pages with interactive features.
Proactively monitor website performance.
Implement security features to ensure a secure experience for visitors.
Recommend and implement website improvement initiatives to provide better user experience and capturing of leads.
Work with other teams to understand their requirements.
Implement information architecture rules to ensure consistent flow of information and an engaging user experience

Requirements

4 - 7 years experience as a website developer with strong knowledge of web technologies, including (but not limited to):

CMS
Php
Javascript
HTML and CSS
Ubuntu
Apache
MySql
UI / UX

Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Ability to understand a business problem and work out relevant solution(s).

Previous experience in integration of webpages with third party apps to send and receive data.

Previous experience working in the Education domain is a plus.

Staying up to date with latest website best practices and technologies.

Self-driven with strong ownership and ability to work with limited guidance.
Flexibility in a start-up environment with dynamically changing scope of work and with a willingness to stretch to meet project deliverables across various work streams.
A team player ready to step up as needed to support overall project requirements

Location

Our office is located in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon. Our campus in Mohali will start from August 2021.
