Job Description

A web designer creates the look, layout, and features of a website. The job involves understanding both graphic design and computer programming. Once a website is created, a designer helps with maintenance and additions to the website.

Strong working knowledge on CSS and CSS3 and HTML4/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery and Adobe photoshop, Wordpress.
Develop HTML pages as per design provided by designer.
Ability to adapt latest technologies and implement the same on projects.
Development of websites and e-modules as per the requirement by coordinating with designer and Marketing team.
Responsible to follow the best practices followed in the department regarding - processes, communication (internal & external),project management, documentation and technical requirements like - HTML and programming.
Exposure and basic working knowledge to jQuery.
Mentor and review junior web designers.
Script Writing for designing new websites

Duties

Their Duties Include, But Aren't Limited To, The Following

A web designer's job duties cover all aspects of creating a website. Upon meeting with clients and assessing their needs, web designers help create and maintain the product.

Writing and editing content
Designing webpage layout
Determining technical requirements
Updating websites
Creating back up files
Solving code problems
Executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
Conceptualizing original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex roadblocks
Conceptualize and create intuitive, engaging, and brand-consistent web experiences
Continually improve and optimize user experience for sites
Collaborate in concept development and design ideation cross-functionally to help define a creative strategy
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in web design
Proficient in Photoshop and other graphics tools (Illustrator, Image Ready, etc.)
Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, jQuery, Angular JS, React JS
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
Experience with database systems such as SQL and Oracle
