Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Work on PHP web frameworks, such as Laravel, Yii, etc.
2. Understand the fully synchronous behavior of PHP & MVC design patterns
3. Work on the front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
4. Work on object-oriented PHP programming
5. Work on the accessibility and security compliance (depending on the specific project)
6. Work on the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
7. Understand the fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
8. Work on user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
9. Integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
10. Handle the limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
11. Create database schemas that represent and support business processes
12. Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
