Your Role and ResponsibilitiesYou are part of Application support for a global WWW application. You need to be sufficiently skilled in supporting Java based application and experienced on UNIX/AIX, WebSphere, DB2, MQ, OpenShift. You have good implementation experience of DEVOPS Tools. (Jenkins, GIT, UCD). You have knowhow on ETL Tools like DataStage. You are flexible with weekend work and have good teaming & communication skills.Responsibilities:- Monitor Application Crons, Backup Jobs and handle day to day maintenance tasks on AIX/LINUX and WAS servers for Non-Production and Production environments.
- Perform Daily system checks of the application servers.
- Prepare maintenance plans and upgrade schedules for the Application Servers.
Set up Jenkins/UCD scripts to perform regular deployments on lower and production environments. - Responsible for deployments and health checks of the application hosted on AIX/LINUX servers.
Support/drive weekend deployments/maintenance activities/disaster drill tasks whenever required. - Coordinate with various teams and raise support ticket for all issues, analyses root cause and assist in efficient resolution of the problem.
- Maintain logs of all issues and ensure resolutions are documented for future reference.
Experience/Knowledge about ETL Tools is an added advantage. - Provide support to Business Partners in analyzing specific business initiatives and identifying the appropriate application system solution through integration of processes, systems and information to fulfil business objectives.
- Knowledge of working in Agile environment. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in using JIRA Tool. - Monitor the flow of data between applications.
- Is aware of proper handshake procedures between squads of the same project working from different GEOS.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise- 2+ years working knowledge with the following WebSphere skills is required for the role,
WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (WAS ND) v6.1.x, v7.x., V 8.5.5.x ,V 9.x - WebSphere Application Server:
- Experience in Checking application processes, verifying logs for errors, resolving production and test server issues to make sure application is available to users, .WAR deployments, validating deployments and configuration.
- Linux & AIX OS:
- Experienced in performing health checks of servers, monitoring processes, deployments, file systems, space, cronjob scheduled jobs, starting and stopping applications, resolving user queries, collaboration with admin teams for upgrades and fix pack updates
DB2 - Good in DDL and DML statements, analysis of DB2 SQL queries, good knowledge on DB2 objects
- Dev Ops Tools
- Experienced in working with CI/CD pipeline with tools like Urban Code Deploy, Jenkins, GIT
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise- Good to have expertise and skills on MQ, DataStage, Docker and OpenShift
