WordPress Engineer

• We're currently seeking a motivated and adaptable WordPress Engineer. 
• The successful candidate will thrive as a key member of our agile and interdisciplinary team designing, building, and maintaining websites for a diverse array of clients and industries. 
• The ideal candidate is able to build clean, performant WordPress sites without relying on bloated prebuilt marketplace themes and plugins or drag-n-drop page builder components.
• In addition to WordPress core proficiency, the successful candidate also possesses strong frontend design and development capabilities with emphasis on Responsive Web Design principles and best practices, including mobile-first progressive enhancement, fluid typography, etc.

• Collaborating on new projects to formulate project requirements and supporting criteria.
• Maintaining existing WordPress sites - backups, core updates, plugin updates, bug fixes, etc., and making improvements where needed (optimization, refactoring, etc.)
• Designing and implementing a new feature and functionality requests based on client and team collaboration
• Building and configuring new site instances (single and multisite) based on project requirements and collaborative team efforts

• Proficiency with graphic design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, etc.)
• Advanced PHP, HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript & jQuery
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of WordPress architecture, vanilla WordPress configuration, theme template, and plugin development based on WordPress best practices
• WP Multisite installation, configuration, and management
• WooCommerce standard and custom implementations
• 3rd-party API integration
• Strong working knowledge and use of Responsive Web Design and UX design principles and best practices
• Knowledge of information architecture best practices and strategies
• Familiarity with Content Strategy elements and best practices
• An exceptionally keen eye for design
• Wireframing & Mock-up creation
