Rail Wheel Factory (Formerly known as Wheel and Axle Plant) is situated in  Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It is a state-of-the-art plant, meeting bulk of the requirement of wheels, axles and wheel sets for the Indian Railways. The spare capacity available is profitably utilised to meet the domestic demands for non-railway customers and exports.

     RWF has implemented ISO 9002 quality management system standard during 1994, and first PU in Indian Railways to implement ISO 9002 system for plant, the system was Certified by M/s.BVQI, Mumbai.
     RWF has implemented ISO 14001 Environment Management system standard during 1996 again first PU in Indian Railways to implement.      ISO 14001 system for plant & colony including Railway Hospital and KV School, the system was certified by M/s.BVQI, Mumbai.      RWF had implemented AAR-M-1003 quality compliance certification for manufacturing wheel and axle, for supply to North American Rail Roads during 1995 and re-certified every three years once till 2013.      RWF has implemented OHSAS 18001 system standard during 2005 again first PU in Indian Railways to implement OHSAS 18001 system for Plant & Colony including Railway Hospital and KV, the system was certified by M/s.ICS, Mumbai     All ISO 9001,14001 & OHSAS 18001 system standard were re-certified by different Certifying agencies at an interval of three years period of  its validity.     RWF has again became first PU in Indian Railways to Integrate ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 system standard during 2013 by M/s.IRQS, Mumbai, and re-certified during 2016 by M/s.ICS, Mumbai.   All products are subjected to stage and final inspection, starting from the chemical composition of the molten metal till the final inspection. This includes micro/macro properties of the material, Magnetic Particle Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Hardness, war page, dimensional parameters, surface finish etc.
   All our products are accompanied with a Quality Assurance Certificate and carry a warranty of one year from shipment. RWF has the full capability to design and manufacture any size of wheels, axles and Wheel Sets to suit individual customer’s special requirements.
