Your Role and Responsibilities
Who you are:

As a DevOps Engineer for ZaaS development team you will be responsible for designing and executing Continuous Integration, Build / packaging and integration of Test Automation suite to accomplish the product quality and contribute towards the release of the product.

What you will do:


As a Cloud DevOps engineer for Z as a Service (ZaaS) Development team you will
• Develop and execute Test cases / Test plan for the Z Private Cloud offering.
• Apply Design Thinking & Agile practices in product development and deliver quality products for IBM Cloud Business.
• Continuous delivery, Test Automation and System administration. understanding and application of skills in the areas of Jenkins, Travis and other automation frameworks
• Active open source contributions and participation. Application of Linux system administration experience and Linux Internals knowledge.

• Will be responsible for working with Development and Test teams and ensuring the product and packaging is of highest quality and improving Build pipeline automation.
  •. Understanding of AWS, Azure and Redhat OpenShift products.
  •. Understanding and applying knowledge in the areas of Cloud Domain, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Docker/Container technologies, Virtualization (KVM),Linux OS Internals.
  • Work with OpenSource community and contribute towards open source development / Testing.
  • Understanding of Cloud development and automation framework, applying the skill into the product to deliver good quality product.
  • To bring Z into the cloud (e.g on-premise cloud),with unique values and services that benefit from them.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 4 to 10 years of experience of relevant industry experience, in the area of Enterprise Server, Linux Cloud Development, Jenkins and Continuous integration / build pipeline, build packaging and virtualization Management is required.
• Experience in Linux operating system, Platform Development, Container technologies, Kubernetes, Dockers, Virtualization Management, REST API, Catalog Services, Micro Services, DevOps (Continuous Integration) is preferred.
• Proven communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven programming skills in Python, Go Lang, NodeJS, Ansible, Scripting
• Scripting and build packaging skills are expected along with good understanding of DevOps and open source tools.
• Z Systems experience
• Private Cloud knowledge
• Prior experience / exposure to Linux System Administration, Storage, Networking and Security would be an added advantage.
