Job Description

Whats the purpose of this role?

Over the past few years we have shifted focus on Digital Marketing. The KRAs of marketing team are - lead generation and brand positioning.

Relevant, timely and engaging content is the backbone of successful marketing to achieve our KRAs.

Content Marketer is a new position envisaged to strengthen the marketing team. This is a 360 degree role that demands good understanding of the business dynamics of all 4 of our businesses, to be able to identify the content opportunities , write engaging content and strategically distribute it across the media platforms to generate business leads and brand positioning . 

Our business subjects related to engineering & technology need special efforts to develop content that is technically correct and articulated in an interesting manner to grab attention.

How will I get empowered/grow?

After understanding the business need, scope & expected results, this position will have the operational autonomy to utilize the available resources to deliver on the agreed outcome. This requires extensive interactions with internal (sales/ service teams) & external (customers/ subject experts) stakeholder as well as constant exploration of online relevant information resources which will widen the perspective.

This resource will be encouraged to participate in external events, training, meet customers, use productivity enhancement tools, experiment with ideas in order to develop good understanding of technology, applications, consumer psychology and stay up to date on the latest trends in the business as well as in the content marketing domain.

With the right acumen & proven performance in the core content marketing skills, this position has an opportunity to evolve as a matured marketing specialist to play a strategic and leadership role.

Key Results (What will I be accountable for?)

Content strategy framework 
  • Work closely with Strategy Council to understand the company's vision, business needs at large, and create the strategic framework for content at the organization level for each media platform
  • Set guidelines & templates for different media platforms
  • Work with the LM on creating a content calendar and drive execution, compliance according to the framework to deliver on agreed measurable results

Website & SEO 
  • Identify opportunities for repurposing, restructuring or revising existing content, and identify additional content needs
  • Manage website updates & develop content for new web pages/ sections
  • Constant tracking, refining & improvisation of content (on-page, off-page & technical) for SEO activities to meet the SEO & website ranking target

Social Media & Blogs 
  • Research the business/ market / technology trends and interact with the internal functional leaders to generate relevant ideas/ topics for content to be posted on key social media channels
  • Development & delivery of original organic content on each social media channel/ blog sites adhering to the framework, guidelines & calendar
  • End-to-end responsibility from research to content development, posting, promotion, handling responses and periodic analytics
  • Deliver on the agreed measurable results

Digital PR 
  • Identify & build relationship with external portals, media, publication, blog sites which are relevant to our business
  • Develop new/ adapted content for posting on these sites
  • Create opportunities for media interaction in form of interviews/ guest blogs/ event panelist/ expert views in news

Sales & marketing tools 
  • Write original organic content for the essential online and offline marketing tools like brochures,PPTs, business profiles, short explainer videos, whiteboard animation, corporate film etc.
  • Review all existing tools and do corrections/ value addition on their content
  • Take initiative to interact with sales & service team for developing new case studies/ testimonial on a regular basis (weekly/ monthly)

Integrated Marketing Campaigns for Lead Generation 
  • Get Involved in the planning of integrated marketing campaigns for suggestions and decision on the messaging strategy
  • Develop original organic content and adapt the same for different delivery platforms & tools like emailers, ads on Google/LinkedIn etc., sponsored posts/ articles, campaign landing page, response forms etc.
  • Testing of messaging options (like A-B analysis) and improvisation of the same on the go.
  • Post campaign analysis on campaign effectiveness, learning & scope for improvement from content perspective

Knowledge/Skills/Behaviours
  • Proficiency in English language in written and spoken formats. Also good command on hindi is helpful for internal communication purpose.
  • Articulation - taking data inputs/ thoughts from the source (internal/external stakeholders, online research etc.),understanding the objectives of communication, processing the inputs and developing effective content suitable for the given delivery platform to yield expected results
  • Story-telling skill - adding value to the information without changing the facts to make it highly engaging and interesting for the target audience.
  • Editorial - compressing raw information into precise content that is relevant, and easy to digest
  • Understanding of the legal & regulatory aspects of content marketing like plagiarism, copyrights, GDPR, permission marketing etc.
  • Understanding of marketing fundamentals like - segmentation, differentiation, positioning, UVP/USP etc. in context of B2B marketing
  • Thorough knowledge & hands-on experience in content framework, testing tools, best practices, used by digital marketers for B2B marketing across the platform like website, social media (especially LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter & YouTube),digital PR, SEO, SEM 
  • Coordination with internal (example sales, service, strategy council) and external (customers, agencies, industry associations, subject experts etc.)
  • Active Presence on LinkedIn & blog site
