Couchbase Job Description

• Overall work Experience – 8 to 10 yrs.

• 4-5 years of industry experience in Couchbase Database administration in a high volume transactional environment with critical uptime requirements.

• Couchbase environment setup, Cluster tuning and configuration in production and test-beds.

• Perform administrative activities like add/remove node & rebalance for planned activities & unplanned outages.

• Proactive monitoring, health check and audit of Couchbase cluster.

• Configure Couchbase Geo-redundancy, troubleshoot and fine tuning of XDCR issues.

• Optimize poorly performing N1QL to meet application requirements.

• Troubleshoot on the client (SDK) side to meet application requirements.

• Implement and monitor backup and recovery for Couchbase Cluster.

• Perform Couchbase online upgrade as required.

• Perform data migration whenever required.

• Write shell scripts to support specific requirements/automation.

• Perform database sizing estimates (capacity planning).

• Work closely with onsite support team on all aspects w.r.t. Couchbase.

• Provide consultation to onsite support team w.r.t., Couchbase and features.

• Work as part of a team and provide 24*7 support whenever required.

• Ensure that all processes and procedures are fully documented, kept up to date and properly socialized.

Cassandra Job Description

• Monitor Cassandra DB, Check alerts and take care of DB issues (issue resolution)

• Performance tuning as needed to ensure DB is up and running healthy

• Minimum of 7+ years in supporting Cassandra databases in a multi-zone clustered environment

• Minimum of 10+ years working experience in Linux

• Minimum of 10+ years working in IT development and/or technical support

• Strong knowledge of how NoSQL technologies interact and complement

• Deep understanding of Cassandra architecture and internal framework

• Experience in tuning JVM

• Advanced knowledge of various troubleshooting tasks (ex. Latency Analysis, Thread state Analysis, etc.)

• Knowledge of installation and configuration procedures.

• Knowledge of add/bootstrap nodes to clusters

• Knowledge of remove/replace nodes in clusters

• Knowledge of replication/partitioning/clustering between data centers

• Willing to work in 24/7 environment.

• Good team player.
