Job Description:

Experience on logshipping and mirroring .Experience on Reporting Services, Development environments & Replication and Cluster Server Environments.
Managing & controlling security, setting up new users, auditing user activity & setting-up user profiles.
Experience in Database backup and disaster recovery procedures.Managing job queues.
Managing production/test databases, ensuring database integrity and availability.
Responsible for Database security and Installations of Databases.
Deadlocking and troubleshooting SQL Related issue.
Backup & Recovery, Capacity Planning, Database Exports, Database Migrations.
Responsible for the availability of the Databases and optimum running of the Business Applications.
Taking Database Backups and Restoration of databases and verify if backup is restorable.
Performing Re-indexing, Defragmentation and Integrity Jobs on the database to optimizing the database performances.
Create and manage tables, indexes, Spaces and stored procedures. Performe database consistency checks.
Knowledge on DBCC commands and Dynamic Management Objects.Knowledge of database migration & upgradationInstallation of database

Other Database Skills:

Installation of MS SQL/Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g and above on Windows, UNIX/AIX, Linux Platform.
Configuration of Database.
Knowledge of SQL, Linux Shell Scripting
Proactive monitoring of Database, Version Upgrades – Daily and weekly.Implementation of logical and physical backups Exposure to DR
Configuring RMAN Maintenance of production database.
Knowledge of the relevant OS commands related to day today activities
Database Recovery using the physical and logical backups Trouble ShootingAnalyzing and Rebuilding IndexesImplementation of oracle security by creating roles and privileges and profiles.
Writing Database script.
Documentation Report/Review – Site Documents, System Study, Backup Policy, Security Policy, Performance Management Document, Patch Management Document, Activity Report, Incident Report, Monthly Service Report etc.
