Job spec for Dev Ops Senior Engineer position

Position: Senior Engineer - Dev Ops lead

Roles and Responsibilities

o The Senior Dev Ops engineer will be responsible for leading and delivering all Dev Ops related deliverables for Core product.

o He/she will be performing below functions under the guidance of CTO and Hyderabad delivery lead on:

o Automating the packaging and building of core Symphony product

o Automating /building continuous integration and deployment pipelines for the core product.

o Integrating execution and reporting of automated test suites covering unit, component, regression, UI, performance/soak/stress testing

o Own the overall product release management process covering

o Version management of components

o Overall product packaging, dependency management across various components.

Experience and Expertise

· Around 8-10 years of hands on experience in software design, development and deployment.

· Recent experience in leading Dev Ops role in large or complex IT project with different technologies.

· Experience in working with software build with Java and Windows technologies.

· Experience in working in agile delivery model and knowledge in Agile methodologies

· Experience in performing DevOps engineering in complex software projects or products spanning

o Designing and developing build and deployment pipelines

o Containerizing applications and deploying in containers and cloud infrastructure.

o Creating packaging and build pipelines using automated build tools.

· Strong hands on scripting and development expertise in

o Modern source code management products like Git

o build tools like Gradle or Maven

o Continuous integration tools like Team City or Jenkins

o Binary artefact repositories like nexus, Artifactory.

o Container frameworks like Docker

o Container deployment and life-cycle management tools like Kubernetes

o Hands on working experience in Unix/Linux and windows operating systems

o Hands on working experience in Cloud offerings like Amazon AWS, Azure

· Strong knowledge and experience in integrating automated test suites like Cucumber/Gherkin, selenium etc that span unit, component, regression, UI, performance/stress/soak testing suites /products.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer science of engineering proficiencies.
