Responsibilities
Install and program fire alarm systems according to blueprints, specifications, and safety codes.
Perform routine maintenance and conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper system functionality.
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems, replacing faulty components as needed.
Ensure all installations and repairs comply with national and local fire safety regulations.
Collaborate with other technicians, electricians, and engineers on projects.
Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation.
Prepare detailed reports on installation, maintenance, and repair work.
Required skills and qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in electronic technology or a related field is often preferred.
Experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and related safety codes and regulations.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficiency with testing and diagnostic tools, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix system issues.
Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
