Responsibilities

• Install and program fire alarm systems according to blueprints, specifications, and safety codes.

• Perform routine maintenance and conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper system functionality.

• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems, replacing faulty components as needed.

• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with national and local fire safety regulations.

• Collaborate with other technicians, electricians, and engineers on projects.

• Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation.

• Prepare detailed reports on installation, maintenance, and repair work. 

Required skills and qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in electronic technology or a related field is often preferred.

• Experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and related safety codes and regulations.

• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Proficiency with testing and diagnostic tools, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix system issues.

• Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

• Attention to detail to avoid errors and ensure correct installation.
