 GIS (Geographic Information System) Engineer at specializing in wireline planning and design focuses on leveraging GIS technology to optimize and manage the company's wireline network infrastructure. This involves using spatial data analysis, network mapping, and design tools to support network planning, expansion, and maintenance. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Planning & Design:
• Designing and optimizing wireline network infrastructure (e.g., fiber optic networks) using GIS software and tools. 
• Data Management & Analysis:
• Collecting, managing, and analyzing spatial data related to network assets, coverage, and performance. 
• Mapping & Visualization:
• Creating and maintaining maps, visualizations, and reports to represent the network and its components. 
• Site Surveys & Data Collection:
• Conducting site surveys, collecting data, and performing spatial analysis to identify potential network issues and optimize performance. 
• Collaboration:
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., network engineers, field technicians) to support network planning, deployment, and maintenance. 
• Compliance:
• Ensuring network designs and implementations comply with industry standards and regulations. 
• Technology Updates:
• Staying updated on the latest GIS technologies and tools to improve network planning and design processes. 

Required Skills & Experience:

• GIS Software Proficiency: Expertise in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and potentially others. 
• Network Design Knowledge: Understanding of wireline network technologies (e.g., fiber optic, copper) and design principles. 
• Spatial Analysis: Strong spatial analysis skills for data interpretation and problem-solving. 
• Data Management: Experience in managing and maintaining spatial databases. 
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Project Management: Some project management skills to manage network design and deployment projects. 
• Relevant Experience: Typically 3-7 years of experience in wireline network planning, GIS, or a related field.
