Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Understand the business domain and develop flexible data model for rapid development.

• Work closely with the data engineers to create optimal data models.

• Create and maintain data maps and systems interrelationship diagrams for data domains and systems.

• Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development methodologies. Set standards for document naming, security, and lifecycle & retention architecture.

• Ability to coach and influence a team of developers to adhere to the data model and design

• Drive design, development, and deployment of Data Warehouse data models.

• Apply different modeling techniques and development of several design models for typical Data Warehouse requests.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Analytics.

• 3+ years of experience working with databases, T-SQL and ETL (Microsoft SSIS) tools.

• Strong Data Vault, Inmon, or Kimball data architecture knowledge.

• Experience designing and developing star schemas.

• Experience with various technologies, frameworks and processes, such as Agile, Microsoft BI Suite, Tableau, Microsoft SQL Server, data warehousing, data flow mapping etc.

• Experience in performing rigorous data analysis, data discovery and data profiling

• Experience understanding the relationships across business information and units of data; collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Stewards and Business Customers to identify data usage patterns and to formulate Business names, definitions and data quality rules for data elements.

• Experience maintaining Data Mapping requirements, Bus Matrix and other Data Design artifacts that define technical data specifications and transformation rules

Nice to have:

• SQL server fine tuning skills

• Data analysis and modeling tools (e.g. Power Designer, ERWin, ER/Studio, Wherescape)

• 2+ years of experience in manage large data sets and optimizing the data integration packages for high performance

• Ability to navigate through the layers of the Data Warehouse from the Integration layer all the way through the SQL optimization engine
