NMT Engineer - Intercity recruitment in New Delhi - For a client of TeamLease Services Ltd

An NMT (Network Management and Transmission) Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and management of the company's intercity fiber optic network, ensuring its health and optimal performance. This includes tasks like monitoring for fiber cuts and other faults, coordinating with various agencies for OSP routes, and ensuring fiber readiness for new projects. They also handle tasks like route surveys, acceptance testing, and periodic maintenance of OSP routes. 

Key Responsibilities of an NMT Engineer at Airtel:

• Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Monitoring Fiber Cuts & Other OSP (Outside Plant) faults. 
• Ensuring the health of the dark fiber network. 
• Performing periodic maintenance tests on OSP routes. 
• OSP Coordination:
• Liaising with different agencies (e.g., NHA, Municipal Corporation, PWD) regarding OSP routes. 
• Coordinating with the OSP team to collect splicing and closure reports. 
• Network Optimization:
• Ensuring fiber readiness for new projects, B2B (business-to-business) connections, and Managed Network Group (MNG) services. 
• Undertaking route surveys for new connections. 
• Troubleshooting and Repair:
• Ensuring the repair and return of faulty hardware. 
• Coordinating with teams for patching and tapping for B2B, MNG, and home work orders. 
• Preparing recovery details reports during migration. 
• Quality Assurance:
• Conducting acceptance testing for assigned tasks in operations. 
• Coordinating with the quality team during acceptance testing and preparing quality reports. 

Additional Information:

• NMT Engineers may also be involved in migrating existing copper connections to fiber. 
• They may need to coordinate with ISP (Internet Service Provider) teams for tasks like collecting installation reports and migrating routers. 
• Some NMT Engineers may also be involved in customer premises equipment (CPE) installation, such as ONT (Optical Network Terminal) devices. 
• The role may involve working with various tools and technologies, including OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) for fiber testing.
