Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT Delhi) invites application for the position Full Time Research Assistant

Position (Number): Full-time Research Assistant (ONE) ; on-campus presence necessary

Monthly remuneration: Rs. 36,000/- (consolidated)

Other benefits: Full hands-on experience in research pertaining to experimental psychophysics/psychology and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); data analyses and interpretation. Particularly suitable for those planning higher studies (e.g., Post-graduation or Ph.D.) /employment in these or related areas. Extension to a longer-term, full-time Ph.D. position may be considered based on candidate’s motivation and overall evaluation during the probation period. Opportunity to publish in rigorously peer-reviewed journals. Hostel facility at IIITD (subject to availability and on payment as per institute norms).

Requisite qualifications and experience: Motivation in brain and cognitive sciences and full commitment to the project’s goals. (essential). Bachelor's/Master's degree in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Engineering, any other biomedical or basic sciences (essential). Programming skills in MATLAB/Python (desirable). Good interpersonal, spoken and written skills in English (essential). Basic conversational skills in Hindi (desirable)

Duration: Total duration = 24 months, renewal based on annual evaluation. Probation – first three months

Responsibilities:

1. Human participant recruitment for both behavioural and MRI experiments (initial training will be provided for both).

2. Flexibly adjusting work timings based on human participants’ schedules for experimental data collection behavioural and MRI experiments.

3. Coordinating participant schedules with the off-campus MRI scanning centre’s available slots to acquire MRI data.

4. Must travel to the MRI scanning centre for data collection (due travelling allowance to and from the scanning centre will be provided).

5. Statistical analyses of behavioural and MRI data (initial training will be provided)

IIIT-Delhi or IIIT-D) was created as a State University by an act of Delhi Government (The IIIT Delhi Act, 2007) empowering it to do research and development and grant degrees. IIIT-Delhi was officially established on 10th June, 2008 as per this notification in the Delhi Gazette. First class (for BTech(CSE) students) was held on 8th September, 2008.
