Resident Engineer - Marine Works

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Safety leadership.
- Actively addressing construction related issues in a timely manner including collaboration with planners, QS’s contracts specialists, document management specialists, HSE professionals, materials specialists and senior management.
- Managing the construction supervision staff including the planning, hiring, developing, mentoring, leading and retention.
- Mentoring and developing a team of professionals and making recommendations for specific staff training.
- Supporting the implementation of the project’s integrated management system
- Reviewing and advising on the Contractor’s Quality Plan, HSE plan and time schedules.
- Monitoring the Contractor’s implementation of the Contractor’s QA/QC procedures and the contract requirements.
- Recording of any area of defective work identified and stewarding the Contractor in implementation of remedial measures.
- Taking action to deal with Contractor’s delays or emergencies at construction site and stewarding the Contractor in delivery of recovery plans were deemed necessary.
- Managing contractual and commercial administration with the QS and contracts specialists and reporting to the Engineer on critical matters.
- Monitoring and analysing the Contractor’s daily activity, reporting and progress.
- Advising on the suitability of the Contractor’s Method statements and ensuring daily site inspections and sign offs are achieved where required.
- Keeping a site record of all activities.
- Reviewing Contractor’s temporary works proposals.
- Managing the review of as-built drawings produced by the Contractor
- Managing the review of Operation and Maintenance manuals produced by the Contractor
- Providing support and advice to the Client on Construction Management matters including interfaces.
- Liaising with the Client’s team in relation to project progress, decisions and changes.
- Coordinating project needs and service delivery with others in the PMC team.
- Participating in project/program risk assessment activities and supporting the maintaining a project-level risk register.
- Supporting the development of tender and contract documents for interfacing works.
- Supporting the Contractor to obtain permits and licenses.
- Enforce ethics and compliance policy including Third Party payment, Sub-consultancy engagement process and Gift and Entertainment policy
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm
- Minimum BTech in a relevant engineering field
- Eligible for membership of a professional organisation
- Minimum 12 years of experience in civil infrastructure industry
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction site environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership position overseeing supervision staff
- Experience on major infrastructure programme during construction phase
