The purpose of these fellowships is to encourage young graduate students in the fields of Economics, Politics, Sociology or other related disciplines, to actively participate in research and engage in policy debates on issues related to the social sectors. They are encouraged to identify key socio-economic problems, gather evidence and offer viable policy solutions after critical analysis.
i. The fellowship provides them with an opportunity to think critically in a multi-disciplinary way, combined with disciplinary rigour. The fellowship will provide support for conducting field surveys, undertaking case studies and gaining first-hand experience in research and analysis.
1. Post Name: Summer Research Fellowship on Public Policy at IEG
2. Amount: A maximum of Rs. 60000/ per group (which would include a monthly stipend for the group members; other costs for field survey; stationary and travel expenses).
3. Eligibility: First year M.A. students or 4th year B.A. students, registered in any UGC recognised institute of higher education in Delhi-NCR region.
4. Duration: 2 months: during May-August
5. Requirements:
The selected groups will conduct surveys, analyse their findings and present their results in a one day workshop at IEG in the month of October. They will also submit a written paper on their research findings. A detailed guideline about the nature of the output expected is given below. Upon submission of the paper, they will be issued a certificate from IEG acknowledging the fulfilment of the fellowship requirements. If the submitted paper meets a certain standard, it may be published as IEG working paper. IEG will provide research guidance
