Applications are invited ONLINE from eligible sportspersons for filling up of 21 (Twenty one) posts in Gr. C against Sports Quota in the following Disciplines/Pay Level through Open Advertisement for the year 2018 - 2019 over Western Railway. There is no reservation for SC,ST and OBC:

Qualification : Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination. Educational Qualification must be from a Recognized Institution.

Pay : Level 2/3 , Pay Matrix Rs.19900-63200/21700-69100 as per VIIth CPC [GP Rs.1900/2000(VIPC)]:-

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2019) : Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/01/2019 i. e. must have been born not earlier than 02/01/1994 and not later than 01/01/2001.

Examination Fees:

(i) For all Candidates except mentioned in Sub Para (ii) below : Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Trial after deducting bank charges.

(ii) For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/ Women, Minorities* and Economic Backward Class : Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision for refunding the same to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Trial after deducting bank charges.

Selection Procedure : i. The recruitment will be based on Trial, assessment of Sports Achievements & Educational Qualification. The candidates, who are found FIT in trials, only will be considered for next stage. ii Trial : Trials of the candidates shall be conducted by Trial Committee to assess their sports performance and suitability for Railway team as well as Indian Railway's team. Trial Committee shall give the recommendations in terms of FIT or NOT FIT for consideration for next stage

Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) vide their letter no. E(NG)-II/96/RR-1/62 Dt.18-07-2005 have delegated powers for recruitment of Gr. 'D' (Now erstwhile group ’D’) posts to General Managers. In pursuance to this, the Railway Recruitment Cell has started functioning in Western Railway at Grant Road Mumbai.
