Responsibilities
· Persuading clients to buy advertising space or time
· Finding out who controls the advertising budget in target organisations and contacting them
· Contact potential clients to describe advertising opportunities. This usually takes the form of cold calling over the telephone but may involve face to face contact at presentations, meetings and business lunches or dinners
· Explaining the benefits of the medium, using statistics on readership or viewing figures
· Research client needs and explain the benefits of buying advertising space, responding to any objections
· Explain pricing costs to potential clients
· Offering a price and negotiating for closing the deal
· Closing the deal and recording the details.
· Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns .
· Track purchases and keep a record of sales, contacts and deals
· Work to maximize sales and meet targets
· Deliver sales reports to management.
